The 2nd annual Lincoln School 5th Grade “Hungry Minds” Pasta Dinner to benefit charities addressing world hunger is held:
Thursday, November 20th with seatings at 6:00, 6:45 and 7:15 p.m.
Join the 5th Graders at Lincoln School in raising money for food charities by bringing the whole family to a simple pasta dinner to be held in the Lincoln School lunchroom (1111 S. Grove). Each 5th Grade class is engaged in researching and selecting a specific charity to support with the proceeds divided equally among them. Last year the 5th Graders raised $2800 for Heifer International, America’s Second Harvest and the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
The cost is $6 per person or $20 for a whole family and includes pasta, salad and bread, all provided by local merchants, including Great Harvest Bread Co., Trattoria 225 and Skrine Chops. Lincoln welcomes the entire community to this special event.
The 5th Graders also ask that everyone “go green” by bringing their own dishes, cups, napkins and flatware. The 5th Graders will operate a dishwashing station and will have everything rinsed for you before you leave. To sweeten this option, all those who bring their own place-settings will be entered in a drawing for one of Lincoln’s new “green” items: stainless steel water bottle, wrap-n-mat re-useable sandwich wrapper, or re-useable tote.

Lincoln School’s Organic Produce Fundraiser

We love this fundraiser because it is good for you, good for the school, and good for the Earth. Enjoy fresh organic produce delivered right to your doorstep and Lincoln school profits. In 2007-2008 we raised $1,000 for our kids just by making healthy eating choices. You can order one of 3 produce boxes for $35.65 each: all-fruit, all-vegetable, or “combo” box with a mix of fruits and vegetables. All produce is 100% organic. Each box is selected and packed by the staff at Timber Creek Farms, so you receive a different mix each time.
